São Paulo, November 4, 2021 - It is often said that no one in the world suffers for love like Brazilians, and the greatest proof of this is the sertanejo sofrência musical style. It is not surprising then that Netflix's new Brazilian series, Só se for por amor, [Only if it's for love] (Spanish title pending) was inspired by that musical style to tell a story about broken hearts, dreams, ambitions and fame. The production is in the final stages of filming, and the premiere is scheduled for 2022. In this video the series is announced to the rhythm of Todo Mundo Vai Sofrer with the interpretation of Marília Mendonça. The cast includes Lucy Alves, Filipe Bragança and singer Agnes Nunes, who makes her debut as an actress, as well as Gustavo Vaz, Ana Mametto, Micael, Giordano Castro, Adriano Ferreira, Luiza Fittipaldi and Laila Garin. In the plot, set in Goiás, Deusa (Lucy Alves) and Tadeu (Filipe Bragança) are in love and decide to form a band called Só se for amor. But as soon as they begin to achieve success, Deusa receives a proposal to start a solo career. As the two take different paths, their relationship becomes shaky, and the band begins searching for a new lead singer. It is then that the mysterious Eva (Agnes Nunes) enters the scene. The cast also includes Jeniffer Nascimento, Bruno Fagundes, and Clarissa Müller, as well as guest artists Marcélia Cartaxo, Leo Jaime, and Solange Almeida. With the production of Coração da Selva for Netflix, Só se for por amor is directed by Ana Luiza Azevedo, Gisele Barroco and Joana Mariani. The series is the brainchild of Luciano Patrick, who co-produced it with Geórgia Costa Araújo.
